Morning Fog and Sun over Agua Caliente

Aqua Caliente SunriseBuy Print

I had been driving past this spot a few times, thinking that it would be an awesome place for a sunrise photo.
So one morning I got up very early and drove down here (1 hour drive), sat up My camera and waited for the sun to rise.
And what a sight, the whole valley was covered in fog, there where so much fog that I couldn’t even see the town down there.

I added a behind the action photo, for your enjoyment.

As mention before I rented a Jeep Wrangler – the coolest car ever – when I was in Mexico in 2011. I used it to driver out on all these small dirt roads you’ll find next to the main road, to see if I could find some nice photo locations, most of the time I ended up in some barb wired fence, and had to turn around and find me another road.
But once in a while I got to some magnificent location, like the one where I made today’s photo.

One of the rare occasions where I used My Nikkor 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 lens, a really crappy lens, I had to make at least 7 or 8 photos of the same object to be sure one of them where in focus.
But that is over now, about a month ago I bought an old and used Nikkor 80-200mm f2.8 lens and that’s a real beauty, really looking forward to get out and test it for real.

Masks

Here’s another one from Mexico, I made a quick visit at the Teotihuacán, to see the pyramids there. And to my big surprise there wasn’t that many people there, there where almost more people selling stuff – like these masks – then there where tourists.

I must admit that – even with a small amount of people on the premises, I had to remove a few tourists from todays photo, in order to get this guy walking away from his masks isolated.

NB: the pyramid in the background is the Pyramid of the Moon.
