The Hawk

There is something about those eyes; I think they look really sad.

And I can’t blame it for being exactly that, because it was one of those hawks that tourists can pay to have up on their arm and then get their picture taken. And right before the shutter clicks, someone pulls on a rope attached to the back of the hawk, which makes it spread out its mighty wings because it thinks it’s about to fall off the arm.

I always feel deeply sorry for those kinds of captured animals, and I never pay to get that kind of “entertainment.” Normally I don’t even make any photos of them.
