A Beer and a Shot

The best way of ending a great day of picture making, is with a cold beer and a shot of tequila and some good company, My friend Mike Connell is sitting on the bar stole right next to me. Thanks for the company buddy.
The Bats and the Bridge
My friend Mike brought me to Congress Av. Bridge in Austin, around dusk to show me a massive bunch of bats fly out from under the bridge, which they do every evening. After waiting a couple of hours for the bats to occur, we gave up waiting – Mike later told me that the non occurring had something to do with their cubs – turned around and started shooting up the street instead which turned in to some pretty awesome photos.
Here’s what Mike got from that same spot.
To get this shoot I was standing so close to the street that I almost got My head ripped off by the rearview mirror on a bus driving by, so don’t you tell me that I’m not living on the edge…..
HDR, 5 RAW exposures, Photomatrix, all 6 photos added as layers in Photoshop, masked back the car trail lights, cause of ghosting, finalizing with Topaz Adjust and Lightroom for contrast and “last-minute” tweaks.
