Alpen View

In two days I’m going to Iceland with My younger brother.
We are gonna spend a week there making a lot of – hopefully – awesome landscape photos.

We gonna focus our trip to the western part of the island, and now My question to you all is, do you have any suggestions to cool spots for making some great landscapes photos?
We already found some via google maps, but if you have a really beautiful spot you would like to share with us, we would be very happy.

Another thing, do I “know” any Icelandic photographers that would like to meetup and share some photographic time with us, please let me know, would love to meet some local photographers.

Hotel Bär

Continued from yesterday.

So I ended up spend most of the day with Markus – that’s the name of the son – making photos of the hotel.
I was rather fun and a bit of a challenge to try to make those kind of commercial photos you see every, but still keep my own touch and style in there.

I really had a great time running around all over the place making photos I thought would make a great impression of the hotel.
The one above we made from the top of their barn , which lies right next to the hotel, in order to get up high enough we had to climb out onto the roof of the barn, which was quiet slippery, but we both made it – Markus with ease, because he is used to climbing mountains – out and back again without breaking anything.

I’ll finish up the story tomorrow.

Breakfast with a View

on our – my girlfriend and me – first day in Tirol, Austria, I had been up on the balcony making a HDR of the setting sun which the owner of the place had noticed.
At breakfast the day after she asked if her son could see the photo I made, because he need some new ones for their website. I of course said yes.
And a few days later I meet up with him to show him the photo, he really liked it and told me about the website update and that he would like to use it if it was ok with me, I said it was ok with me and asked him what other photos he needed, he said the usual stuff you use on all the hotel booking websites, I offered to make the photos for him – there were one room in particularly I really wanted to photograph – He said that would be very nice of me if I would, and that they would like to pay me for the job.

The photo above is from the breakfast room, where we had breakfast every morning, looking at the surrounding Alps. Ahh I really miss that spot.

I just got back from 2 weeks in Austria, the first week I spend in Tyrol, and on the first night there, this is what I saw from the balcony of the hotel.
