Do you know the name of this building?
I was out walking the streets of Tokyo a week or so ago, I took a subway train to Tokyo station, cause I thought it would be some sort of a downtown, but let me tell you it isn’t, My first impression is that it’s a rather boring area of Tokyo, Well there I was, I didn’t just wanted to take the subway back again, so I started walking in a random direction.
The special thing about this evening was that I had only brought My Olympus Pen and My new Fuji Instant camera, I had for some reason unknown to man, left My D3s at the hotel.
After walking for a couple of hours I ended up in Akihabara – aka The Electric Town – and I saw this street with a lot of lights and such, and I thought it would do good as a HDR photo, but I didn’t have My D3s, so I gave the Olympus Pen a go.
I went half a cross the zebra crossing, here I found a small stand where I could put the camera for stability, And just as I was ready to shoot, this bus came half way through My frame, I looked at the display – the Pen doesn’t have a viewfinder by default – and really like what I saw, I just got My 7 exposures fired before the bus drove on.
I’m really impressed with the HDR image I got from the Pen, the colors are bright and deep, the detail level is good, if you watch the image in full-res, you can see that the bus driver is wearing one of those white masks – for those of you watching it on Flickr or Razzi, come to the blog for the full-res image – noise is not to awful, of course the resolution can’t match My D3s.
But besides that I really like the reasult.

Here’s My first post with a photo from Tokyo, Japan, where I have been the last couple of days, at the moment I’m spending the next 1½ week on a drive down to Hiroshima and back to Tokyo, where I’ll spent the last week before going back home to Copenhagen.
This photo was made near Akihabara station, here you’ll also find the Electronic town of Tokyo, and if you are a gadget buff like me, this is for sure a must see place – click on the geotag link below, see exactly where I made it - I ended up buying all sorts of electronic stuff here in the Yodobashi Camera store, a store that makes BH in New York City look like a toy store.
I stood under this bridge to catch some interesting lights on the people walking here from the cars passing by in the street, it never really happened the way I was hoping for, but this shoot turn out quiet alright, after some serious post processing in Lightroom and Silver Efex pro from Nik Software.
