The title doesn't refer to the Woman in the photo, but to the photographic term “negative space” as when you leave a big open space in your photo.
But that said, then there are too many people how think that beggars and the likes are “negative space”. I think that it is very important that we take as good care as possible of the weak and not so fortune people in our society. Who knows, it might be yourself or somebody close to us who ends up here one day.
